This interactive Latin American dance workshop is presented by one or more CultureALL Ambassadors who are professionals dance teachers for Salsa Des Moines.
Geographic and human characteristics create culture. After periods of time, humans develop, learn, adapt to the environment, and internalize their culture. This can be seen in various activities including dance. Latin American dances were created from a mixture of European, African, and Indigenous cultures. The dances provide a blend of style and movement that have been developed over the years.
Students in this workshop will learn the dance steps of Salsa,Tango, Cha Cha and other dances based on Latin rhythms and realize the similarities and differences of each dance. In addition, students will discover the European and African roots of these cultures and how they have been woven to reflect the different ethnicities.
