Did someone say international arts & craft time? The Celebration is offering a series of cultural kits sponsored by Veridian Credit Union and produced in partnership with CultureALL for community members to pick up and have fun at home.
Community members can pick up a kit on Sunday, Sept. 13 from 2 – 5 p.m. at the Iowa State Historical Building portico, with access from East Locust Street near East 7th Street. There will be 1,000 free kits produced to be given away. Activities include Brazilian ganzá, Filipino Sipà, loi krathong art project, Kenyan bead bracelet and Mexican artesanía paper flowers. Kits will be available first-come, first-served and while supplies last.
This event is outside, and drive-up is encouraged, but walkers are also welcome. To drive up, enter from East Locust Street just west of East 7th Street. Please wear a mask when picking up your free kit.
