The mission of CultureALL is to value our diversity. We believe that sharing the cultural richness of our community with others will elevate our society and the quality of life for all. When Iowans PARTICIPATE in cultural traditions, we begin to APPRECIATE the diversity around us. The experiences ELEVATE our attitudes and behaviors to be more accepting and able to bridge differences. By sharing cultures, we develop a shared sense of community.
Iowa has a rich cultural diversity, and Iowans are legendary for their acceptance of other cultures. Yet, most Iowans have not faced the kind of diversity now growing throughout our state. These changing demographics, combined with the increasingly interconnected global economy, led Sherry Gupta to recognize the need for multicultural education in Iowa schools. She founded World of Difference in 2005 to provide students with what textbooks and research projects cannot — real-life interactions with people from other cultures.
Over the next few years, Sherry worked with a board of directors to build a network of CultureALL Ambassadors, educators, and funders. The organization changed its name to CultureALL™ in 2010 and continually expands programs and services for schools, businesses, and community organizations. Today, CultureALL engages more than 70 immigrants, refugees and local residents representing more than 50 distinct cultures as Cultural Ambassadors. With them, CultureALL has served more than 300,000 individuals with 7,000+ authentic, discovery-filled cultural experiences.
This document summarizes CultureALL's revenue, expenses, and net assets, as filed with the IRS Form 990-EZ for the past 4 years.
