Chinese food is an important part of Chinese culture, and Chinese people take great pride in their food culture. The great variety of Chinese food is overwhelming. In this presentation, distinctive features of Chinese cuisine will be explained. Participants will get an understanding of how food and cooking change throughout the different geographic locations in China and how selection of different food materials vary with seasons. If a kitchen setting is available, a cooking demonstration will be given, and participants will learn to cook Chinese food.
