Kenyon Murphy, co-owner of Paris Banh Mi in Windsor Heights
Kenyon Murphy was ten years old when he and his brother were adopted from Vietnam. With a Japanese mother and American father, Kenyon’s life was full of rich, multicultural experiences. He was able to connect more with his own Vietnamese culture when he opened his Vietnamese sandwich shop, Paris Banh Mi.
Banh mi is a popular Vietnamese sandwich often consisting of a variety of meats and pickled vegetables, such as pickled carrots and pickled daikon, served on a baguette. The cuisine is heavily influenced by the French colonial rule in the country, and often includes French ingredients like pâté, red chili, and mayonnaise.
Kenyon is partnering with CultureALL to host a dinner event at Paris Banh Mi on June 26, 2023 at 6 pm. Our goal of the dinner event is to come together as a community. Sitting around a dinner table, guests not only get a taste of popular Vietnamese treats but also a sense of CultureALL programs. Experience first-hand the impact of what CultureALL achieves: the ability to navigate through an increasingly complex multicultural society.
Paris Banh Mi will offer a buffet sampling of eight of their popular Banh Mi sandwiches, as well as three of their most popular drink offerings and the original Korean hotdog. Guests will also enjoy a vocal performance from Brenda Tran, a local Vietnamese restaurant owner who sings traditional Vietnamese music.
Join us as we come together across cultures to talk, listen, learn and collaborate in building a community where everyone is welcome.
Tickets cost $35 and can be purchased here. Proceeds from this event will support CultureALL programming.
