Kathryn (Kate) Winslow is from an island in Southeast Alaska, part of the Tongas National Forest, the largest temperate rain forest in the world. In Alaska, she has worked as a boat captain, master teacher, and expert guide. She is also a professional photographer. Kate now splits her time between Iowa and Alaska.
