Reverend Francis Nyawello Chan came to the U.S. as a refugee 15 years ago from Beirut, Lebanon. Rev. Chan worked for the State of Iowa DHS Bureau of Refugee Services as a case manager and refugee specialist for 14 years. Rev. Chan is an ambassador for his home country of South Sudan in East Africa. Rev. Chan is with the Roman Catholic Diocese of Des Moines.
