3. #Donate Through Facebook or Twitter
Thanks to our partnership with GoodWorld you can actually donate to CultureALL without leaving Facebook of Twitter. Here’s how it works:
Create an account and give them a credit card # that you would like to use to make donations. Use this link, and GoodWorld will give you a free $10 credit that you can donate back to CultureALL: https://gdw.io/26602e
Once you have signed up, you connect your Facebook and/or Twitter account to your Goodworld account.
(Tip: When you create your account, check the Account Details settings – there is a setting there that allows you to set a default amount for your donation – Goodworld sets it automatically at $25, but you can easily change it.)
Once you are connected you can make a donation to any nonprofit registered on Goodworld by typing #donate plus the dollar amount you want to contribute :
- On Facebook: reply/comment using the hashtag on any of CultureALL’s Facebook posts (example: #donate $10)
- On Twitter, you can @reply or re-Tweet with #donate and the amount (example: #donate $10) – or you can tweet to donate at our handle: #donate @CultureALL_IA $10
(Tip: If you type #Donate without an amount, Goodworld will charge your card the default amount you set up in in your Account Details settings.)
Sign up before December 31 using this link and GoodWorld will give you a free $10 credit that you can donate back to CultureALL: https://gdw.io/26602e
4. Become A CultureALL Ambassador
If you have had experiences living in another country, why not share them by becoming an Ambassador for CultureALL? Click here to learn more.
If you know someone in the greater Des Moines community who might make a good CultureALL Ambassador, please let them know about us!
5. Get Your Tickets for the Brazilian Ball
Tickets for CultureALL’s Brazilian Ball are on sale now. It’s a great time to buy them, because part of every ticket purchase is a tax-deductible contribution.
If you attended last year’s Bollywood Ball, you won’t want to miss this unique evening of food, fashion, and fun that celebrates the culture of Brazil. Get your tickets now to take advantage of the end of year tax-deduction!
6. Sign Up to Host A House Party
A house party is a small event hosted in a private home as a “friendraiser” for CultureALL. We help you choose the theme for your party, connect you with a CultureALL Ambassador who can make a presentation and/or provide entertainment, and provide you with ideas and resources to help make your party a success. If you want to have an even greater impact, turn your house party into a mini-fundraiser and ask your guest to donate.
Want to host a house party? Send an e-mail to Paula Hutton McKinley, our Director of Community Engagement and she’ll help you get started. E-mail Paula.
7. Make a Resolution to Get Your Company Involved with CultutreALL
Does your company need diversity training? CultureALL has programs to help both large companies and smaller businesses create a more inclusive work environment for their employees.
We are also working to develop partnerships with companies to support our programs and sponsor events like the Brazilian Ball. Sometimes that requires the help of someone within the company to be our advocate and help us in forming a partnership. Are you that person? Contact our Executive Director Sherry Gupta and find out more about how to help company build a relationship with CultureALL. E-mail Sherry.
If your New Year’s resolution is to give back some of your time to the community, please consider volunteering for CultureALL. Help at an event, take photos or video at one of our school programs, or become a Social Media Ambassador. There are many opportunities to help, and we are happy to help you find a volunteer opportunity that fits your interest, talents, and availability. You can start by using our contact form to let us know you’re interested. Contact Us Here.
9. Donate to Our Year End Campaign
Take advantage of that last minute tax deduction by making a contribution to our end-of-year campaign. On #GivingTuesday, we set a goal to raise at least $5,000 in online and mailed in contributions by December 31. We’re nearly there – will you help?
Want to donate by mail? Mail your check by December 31 and you can still get a tax-deduction. Find out more – and download a donation form – here.
10. Share This Article with Your Network
Let them know about CultureALL’s work in the community and why they should support it!
Last year, thanks to the support of people like you, CultureALL was able able to provide our unique cultural educational programs for over 30,000 community members in Iowa. Of these more than 26,000 were students. But with more than 50,000 students in greater Des Moines – and nearly half a million in the state of Iowa, we have so much more work to do. But we cannot reach them without the support of generous community members like you.
Will you support CultureALL by doing just one thing on this list before the end of the year?
Connect, Communicate, and Contribute – and support our mission of helping communities to value our culturally rich diversity.
