Over 400 guests, artists, and volunteers joined us at Valley High School on Saturday, May 13th to celebrate Brazilian culture at our Living Cultures: Brazil community event. Here are some of the highlights:
Our team of volunteers spent hundreds of hours preparing for the event, doing everything from developing the entertainment…
to making costumes…
to preparing the food…
to decorating the venue on the day of the event. And they had a great time doing it!
The Brazilian 2wins kicked off the celebration with fantastic energy…
and the artists from Choro Moingona provided cool Brazilian jazz.
The Brazilian Moves Dance Company showcased the dances and dress from different regions of the country, from colorful folk dances…
to the exotic glamour of Carnival!
Fitness Connections wowed the crowd – and defied gravity – with their amazing Capoeira performances.
Food and Fun
Guests had a chance to sample some delicious Brazilian Bites…
and kids of all ages were delighted by Discovery Experiences.
Last – but not least – everyone came together to dance!
What’s Next? We Want To Hear From YOU
Now that the Brazil event is over, everyone has been asking, “What’s next? What culture will you feature next? Will it be another glitzy gala like the Bollywood Ball, something more family-friendly like Living Cultures: Brazil, or something completely different?”
The short answer is: We don’t know – so we’re asking YOU.
If you attended the event, please complete our survey. Tell us what you thought about Living Cultures: Brazil – and what you think we should do next.
Submit your survey between now and Friday, June 16 for a chance to win a $35 gift card from our friends at Sakari Sushi Lounge. (Winners will be notified by phone or e-mail.)
Those who completed the survey before June 5 were eligible to win a $20 gift card from our friends at Tandem Brick. Congratulations to Janet Mashek – the winner of the gift card!
