Our Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner project kicked off on Friday, October 21, with a Bollywood Social at RAYGUN. More than 50 people stopped at the store to help us celebrate the release of a new t-shirt that RAYGUN designed especially for CultureALL. Here are some of the highlights:
Guests enjoyed Indian beverages (beer and mango lassi) and appetizers created by our friend Prem Chandrasekaran. CultureALL Ambassador Pragnyna Yogesh delighted with a demonstration of Bollywood dance styles…
…then coaxed some of her audience into joining in the dancing.
CultureALL Board President Ryan Bhattacharyya and Board Member Renee Hardman spoke briefly but passionately about CultureALL’s value to the community, and many people were moved to buy a t-shirt or make a donation before heading out to enjoy the weekend.
The Bollywood Social was one of several Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner gatherings happening in the community. Other gatherings during the weekend of October 20-22 included a cocktail party conversation with Dr. Maria Andrade, a World Food Prize Laureate, and a “Roll Your Own” (Sushi) party at the home of CultureALL board member Dick Murphy. Other community members are hosting their own culturally themed events through the end of the year. If you are interested in hosting your own party to bring your friends together to talk about culture and support CultureALL’s school programs, click here to learn more.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by the Bollywood Social and made a donation or purchased a t-shirt. If you didn’t make it to the event, you can still purchase a shirt at RAYGUN, and they will generously donate a portion of every purchase to CultureALL.
Thanks also to the staff at RAYGUN (especially Mike Draper and Jen Leatherby) for creating the shirt and sponsoring the event, and to Prem and Pragnya for making it extra special. And a big thank you to Prairie Meadows for sponsoring the Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner initiative.
