CultureALL is pleased to continue its partnership with the Des Moines Public Library to offer a free series of CultureALL experiences at the Forest Avenue Library. December programs include:

Nepal is not only a land of mountains. It is also known for its colorful vibrant festivities. In Nepal, there are more than 50 annual festivals that are celebrated by people of the Hindu, Buddhist, Muslim and Christian faiths. Despite the diverse ethnic background and practices, Nepali citizens of every faith unite for these major celebrations. Learn about these rich traditions with CultureALL Ambassador Shweta Agrahari.

RJ HernandezMusical Tour of Mexico

2:00-3:00 pm

Ages 5-12

Join CultureALL Ambassador R. J. Hernandez (of the musical ensemble Las Guitarras de Mexico) for a musical journey through the history and culture of Mexico. Participants will learn the names of the different rhythms from each region of the country, and have a chance to try various types of guitars and percussion instruments.

These workshops are part of a series that the Forest Avenue Library will be hosting for the community.  Last month, the library hosted workshops on the cultures of Nigeria and Kenya. Mark your calendar and stay tuned for more information on these programs in 2018:
