Brazil has a diverse, varied, and lively culture, yet many Iowans have limited knowledge of the country and its people. Central Iowa has a growing and enthusiastic Brazilian population. They are eager to share their culture with the rest of our community.
Living Cultures: Brazil provided a unique opportunity to learn something about another culture through a shared experience with real people from that culture. It was a celebration where people of many different cultures come together in the spirit of friendship and community. It was also a fantastic, family-friendly party, as well as a fundraiser for CultureALL.
In 2016, our Bollywood Ball, celebrating the fusion of cultures showcased in India’s Bollywood film industry, was one of Des Moines’ most talked about community events. Living Cultures: Brazil had the same energy and spirit as the Bollywood Ball, with a uniquely Brazilian flair in a relaxed, family-friendly venue.
As with the Bollywood Ball, all proceeds from this event benefit CultureALL’s K-12 education programs.
