Why Brazilian Culture?

Brazil has a diverse, varied, and lively culture, yet many Iowans have limited knowledge of the country and its people. Central Iowa has a growing and enthusiastic Brazilian population.  They are eager to share their culture with the rest of our community.

Living Cultures: Brazil provided a unique opportunity to learn something about another culture through a shared experience with real people from that culture. It was a celebration where people of many different cultures come together in the spirit of friendship and community. It was also a fantastic, family-friendly party, as well as a fundraiser for CultureALL.

In 2016, our Bollywood Ball, celebrating the fusion of cultures showcased in India’s Bollywood film industrywas one of Des Moines’ most talked about community events. Living Cultures: Brazil had the same energy and spirit as the Bollywood Ball, with a uniquely Brazilian flair in a relaxed, family-friendly venue.

As with the Bollywood Ball, all proceeds from this event benefit CultureALL’s K-12 education programs
