Living in Greater Des Moines, we are surrounded by a rich diversity of religious traditions we don’t always realize. Join the Des Moines Area Religious Council (DMARC), The Comparison Project, and the Drake Community Press as we host an Interfaith and Multicultural Fair on Tuesday, November 15, from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. in Parent’s Hall at Drake University’s Olmsted Center.
Many different religious traditions will be represented at the fair, sharing their food, music, religious practices and culture. These faith communities are all being featured in an upcoming book from The Comparison Project, Drake Community Press and local photographer Bob Blanchard, which will be released in spring 2017.
This event is free and open to the public.
The Interfaith and Multicultural Fair will precede the 37th Martin Bucksbaum Distinguished Lecture by Krista Tippett titled Becoming Wise, held at 7:00 p.m. at Drake University’s Knapp Center. In addition to being one of the world’s leading journalists covering faith and religion, Tippett is also an advocate for civil discourse.
